|Looking for a couple ideas on shrubs for the front of our house. We have a long ranch and recently took out some old evergreen bushes. I would like to use a couple of different shrubs. I like the Sambucus Black lace, does that work in this area and what would you plant with it? THe area is mainly in the sun.

|Black Lace Elderberry is a spectacular shrub whether in bloom or out. It's hardy in your area so I'd go with it! To contrast with the foliage, choose a lime-green or a gray colored foliage perennial to plant beneath them. Silvermound Artemesia has gray foliage as does Lavender; Coral Bells and Lady's Mantle have lime-green foliage. Enjoy your landscape!
