I am new to CA and would like to get some potted plants that work well and are easy to care but colorful. Since we are renters I want to be able to take them with us to our next location. Suggestions?? Most of or front area is shaded or partically sunny. Thanks!

In shady sites you can plant fuchsias and tuberous begonias; in sunny spots bougainvillea, roses (miniature), and geraniums. Choose the plants you like best - most will adapt to growing in containers and you can take them with you when you decide to move. Enjoy your garden!
