weeping laceleaf Japanese maple - Knowledgebase Question

I bought a weeping laceleaf a couple years ago and this year when the new leaves came back this year on the top half of the tree no leaves returned. Do I need to prune the top out of the tree or what?

Wait until you know for sure the branches are dead before pruning them off. Sometimes a late frost can kill the leaf buds on the top of the tree and the branches need a little more time to develop new leaves. I hope your tree recovers soon!
