|Both apricot and plum trees are members of the Prunus family so the leaves and flowers will look similar. The plant tag indicates a plum tree. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that one is an apricot. If it's the fruit color, it may be a yellow plum rather than a red plum. If so, it will pollinate your red plum and vice versa. All plums bear a heavier crop if they have a second variety near by for cross pollination. Hope this answers your question.
