i have 3 year old pink crabapple trees. Do I prune all of the shoot off's that are growing around the base? Trees are growing so slow and I am wondering if this slowing the growth process?

Crabapple trees do tend to send up suckers from the roots. These should be pruned off as soon as they develop. Suckers can sap the strength from the tree so removing them should make a difference in your tree's performance. Best wishes with your crabapple tree!
