Sounds like damping off which is a common problem with seedlings if the area is kept too moist and air circulation is poor. You can try putting a fan near your seedlings to increase air circulation. With any luck this will kill the fungus. If not, the stems of your plants will collapse and you'll have to start all over again. If this happens, use fresh seed starting mixture or potting soil to start new seeds. And, keep the fan blowing gently to help improve air circulation. Hope your seedlings make it!
