My mother in law hates her daffodils and we've dug out the bulbs twice and year after year they come back!! They are obviously a resilliant flower, is there a flower that will take over and kick the daffodils out for good?? HELP!! |
You can cut off the foliage when it sprouts in the spring and the bulbs will eventually run out of stored energy and will die out on their own. The foliage is what replenishes the bulb. If you cut off the leaves as soon as they appear, the bulb will have no way of collecting and storing energy and will die out. I'd be sure the bulbs were gone before planting anything on top. Otherwise, you'll damage the groundcover if you need to access the bulbs. Best wishes with your project! |
