magnolia leaves - Knowledgebase Question

I raked up so many magnolia leaves today and am wondering if they can be used as mulch under the viburnum shrubs. Hopefully, they can - without having to shred them first. Thank you. M

They can be used as mulch but they will take years to decompose if you don't shred them first.
