Forsythia will bloom from late winter into spring. Other spring-flowering shrubs include lilacs, viburnums, honeysuckle, chokeberry, mock orange, and weigela. Summer-flowering shrubs include hydrangeas, roses, Japanese spirea, rose-of-Sharon, potentilla, and smokebush.

Plant a variety and you'll have color along your driveway from late winter until early fall.
