I am searching for a border perennial that can stand full sun, warm summer temperatures, and a flower color that is bright. I was looking for something like the Geranium Johnson Blue. Can you recommend anything?

Because you're considering geraniums for your border, you probably have soil that's on the dry side in your sunny garden bed. I'd recommend many of the dwarf or low growing Asters, Gazania, Lavender, Gaillardia, Coreopsis, Kniphofia (Red-Hot Poker), or Baileya multiradiata (Desert Marigold). All have striking blooms, and all do well in arid gardens.
