|I was wondering when I should start training a bonsai. Do you start while it is still in the beginning growing phase (and not yet in the bonsai pot) or do you wait until it is in a bonsai pot to start training it? Thanks a lot.

|Training a bonsai begins when the plant is very young and it's essentially pinching and pruning to get the shape you want. You can wait until your plant has at least 4 sets of true leaves to start training. There are tons of books on the subject so you might want to check the shelves of your local library for an overall view of training a bonsai. Best wishes with your project!
