We have moss growing in a flower bed of Sweet Williams. Do we need to remove it or break it up in the soil?

You can probably peel away the moss or scrape it off the surface of the soil with the side of a hand trowel. Moss indicates the soil is compacted and acidic. To counteract both of these, dig around in the soil, spread some compost over the top, then dig it into the soil. This will loosen the soil and help deter new moss. Good luck with your garden!
