I was looking to a weed whip and there are two types of shafts. The first is a bent shaft and a straight shaft. What is the difference? What are benefits and disadvantages of each. I don't know which one to buy.

I think choosing one will be a personal preference. The idea behind the bent shaft is that it is easier on the back. Some people find them easier to use when weed whacking a large landscape because the weight is distributed a little differently. Others don't find any difference at all. I use one with a straight shaft because I can predict exactly where the string will cut. I just aim and shoot! The bent shaft model keeps your feet and legs a little further from the string if you're concerned about that. Guess you'll just have to try them both (without power!) in the store. Just hold each as if you were trimming the edge of a flower bed and see which one feels most comfortable to you.
