How can you kill small starts of Laurel without hand pulling them. What about ones that are bigger?

Will round-up work?

Cutting the suckers and painting the stubs with Round Up will kill the suckers but the product could travel into the roots and kill the laurel shrub, if the roots are originating from an established laurel. If you want to keep the laurel, digging or hand pulling is the safest route. There is a product called Sucker Stopper that is touted to keep the suckers from growing but won't hurt the parent plant. You might be able to control the suckers this way. Hope so!
