|I have a small island bed in the front of my yard. I am trying to plan certain plants/flowers that will fill this bed but not be too high. I am stumped about where to start.

|You can concentrate on finding low-growing perennials that flower in your favorite colors. The general design rule is to plant the tallest growing plants in the center of the bed surrounded by lower growing plants, ending up with the lowest growing plants all around the edges. This will produce the most pleasing island bed and can be appreciated from all sides. Hope this provides some guidance.
