Annual blue grass or Poa Annual has taken over a considerable part of my lawn. Is there anything I can do besides digging out the areas and starting over? Are there any mid-season fixes for this?

Annual bluegrass is a cool season grassy weed and will go dormant in the heat of the summer. There's really no way to remove it from a lawn once it begins to sprout but you can keep it from sprouting in the spring with an early spring application of pre-emergent (just as you would keep crabgrass from sprouting). Digging out may be your only option at this point; a pre emergent herbicide application in late summer will keep the seeds from sprouting this fall and next spring.
