2,4-D is a broadleaf herbicide and will kill dandelions. The problem you'll encounter is that if you don't keep the weeds mowed down before they produce flowers and seedheads, there will be hundreds and hundreds of seeds just sitting on the soil, waiting to sprout. So, one application won't be enough. You can use 2,4-D or dandelion killer on your lawn but it isn't safe to use in your veggie garden or flower garden. Hand pull the weeds in your vegetable garden and carefully spot treat the dandelion weeds in your flower beds, being careful to keep the spray off your annual and perennial plants. Wish there were an easier solution!
