I want to keep weeds away from the house but our termite man said that mulch around the house will be food for termites. What's your suggestion?

thank you

You can use shredded bark or bark nuggets. To ensure the mulch is termite free, just spread it out. Termites will scurry off when exposed to sunlight. You can use the mulch in your beds near your house as long as you periodically rake it to deter insect pests. Or, you can use one of the new rubber mulches. It's not at all inviting to termites. Gravel/decorative rocks are another alternative.
