|My neighbor grew upside down tomatoes - the soil on top.
What's the preferred method and care for salad tomatoes ?
|I think it's fun to grow tomatoes upside down! Sometimes the results are good and other times the plants struggle to produce. I think that's because the roots are most comfortable growing down into the ground and the tops prefer to grow upright. So, for best results, plant your tomatoes in a sunny garden bed with garden soil that's been amended with organic matter. You can use compost, aged manure, peat moss, etc. to amend the soil. Plant your seeds or transplants, keep the soil moist but not soggy wet, and you should have a bountiful harvest. Enjoy!|
