Where is the best place to plant a delphinium in Dallas? Pot or bed? Full or part sun?

Delphiniums can be very touchy when grown in hot summer climates like yours. They like sunshine, but do not like heat. You'll have more success if you plant them where they will receive morning sun and shade from hot afternoon sunshine. I grow mine in the ground. The ground stays cooler and you can mulch over the soil to help retain moisture. Plants in pots in hot climates can suffer stress because the roots are above ground. Best wishes with your delphiniums.
