Name of a plant - Knowledgebase Question

I bought a hanging basket and it had no tag. It has the appearance of a bromeliad but the stalk and leaves are a little hairy and feel like velvet. Leaves and stalk are a light green-gray color. Leaves are broad at the base and taper to a point. It has small purple flowers with prominent pistils (stamens?)of yellow-gold. I am unsure how to take care of it. Can you provide a name? Thank you.

It sounds like lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina). If so, it will thrive in full sunshine and somewhat dryish soils. You can water regularly but be sure to allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Hope this is the plant!
