I just started to give my amaryllis bulb water after its period of winter dormacy. After one day the bulb started sending up leaves but after 2 weeks, still no flower spikes. Is this normal? Is there still a chance that it will flower or will I only just have leaves this year?

Amaryllis usually flowers before it leafs out so the bulb may not have enough stored energy to produce a flower this year. But it may surprise us! Just treat it kindly, allow the leaves to turn yellow and die down before you stop watering and allowing it to rest. I'm sure by next year it will produce a flower. Enjoy!
