I have a bumper crop of yellow crook neck squash in my container garden. Today I noticed several small squash laying on the soil. They are about 1 inch long and look like a ballon that has deflated. Could heavy rain have knocked them off? I am using insectisidel soap one a week. I don't see any bugs. What do you think?

I think what you've found are naturally aborted fruits. If the flowers are not adequately pollinated the little fruits will begin to develop but then be shed by the plant because they won't grow into healthy fruits. Don't worry about a few lost baby squash. It's normal and natural.
