My green & yellow bush beans are growing nicely but have few beans...should I fertilize more or perhaps do something else? I live in Jacksonville. Thanks |
Green (and yellow) bush beans grow and flower best in the cooler months of the year. For you, that means planting in late January and harvesting through April. Now that the weather is consistently warm, production will diminish. You can feed your plants with a foliar fertilizer (such as Miracle Gro or Miracid) to help them grow - which might promote more flowers and beans. If that doesn't provide the harvest you expect, plant beans again in September for harvest in December and January. Good luck with your beans! |
