OBSESSED WITH HYDRANGEAS.JUST BOUGHT MY 1ST PLANT AT HOME DEPOT. I PUT IT IN A LARGER POT AND IS OUTSIDE UNDER MY FRONT WINDOW. DESPERATE TO GROW THIS SUCESSFULLY. TELL ME WHAT TYPE TO BUY AND ILL BUY IT. VERY LARGE PROPERTY AND ALSO I HAVE SHADE UNDER MY FICUS TREES. I ALSO HAVE SHADE AROUND THE PATIO BECAUSE I HAVE EREKA PALMS ALL AROUND IT.

You actually can grow hydrangeas in Florida and there are lots of cultivars that will perform well. The University of Florida has a publication discussing the different types of hydrangeas, along with required growing conditions. I hope you find it helpful: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ep287
