|I am trying to remember if impatiens like less sun and periwinkles more or vice versa. Had great success with one or the other this year, but I can't recall which I did..! Also, now I'm pulling them all up and planting pansies. Should I make cuttings from the impatiens/periwinkles and start them in the greenhouse for next spring or start with seeds. It hurts to pull up beautiful plants and throw them away for naught.|
|Impatiens need a shady spot while periwinkles prefer full sun. You can try to winter over some plants although this may amount to more trouble than you care to deal with. You need not have to root cuttings, just trim the roots and tops on the old plants and replant them in pots in the greenhouse. Or, simply start anew with seeds next year.
Thanks for the question!
