I just purchased a dwarf giant papyrus from my local Home Depot and want to place it in my pond. I will need to transfer it to a black pot as it was grown in a white pot. Should I just xfer soil and all or use a special growing medium? My pond is small, about 10 x 10'. Several fish.

If the plant is in heavy clay soil, just exchange pots. If it is in potting soil you'll want to replant it in regular garden soil (potting soil will float!). Expect some of the soil to mix with the pond water and form a cloud around the pot when you set it down into the pond. The dirt will settle to the bottom of the pond and you can either leave it alone or you can vacuum it up. Best wishes with your pond.
