We have a pretty Crimson King that a horse bent and snapped the trunk. The tree stands upright, but has a significant crack. Is there anything we could use to try and repair this or is it a lost cause?

If the damage was not severe enough to interrupt the vascular system (the tissues that conduct water up and down the trunk), the wound may heal itself. If the damage is too severe, the tree will die. There's really no way to repair the damage. Just allow the tree to callous over the wound. If it can, it will. Wish I had more to share with you! Best wishes with your Crimson King!
