i planted my bulbs at the approiate depth and i want to mulch the area to prevent weeds, hcan i put 3-4inches of mulch on top of the bulbs.

A 3-4 inch layer over your bulbs should not cause a problem. They should poke through the mulch at the appropriate time of the year. If they seem to be struggling to reach the surface, you can gently brush away the mulch in the late winter or early spring. Enjoy your garden!
