Annual pruning will help your holly fill out and grow lush and dense. Since you've already pruned it this year, wait until next spring and prune it again. It might take a few years, but eventually it will fill out, especially now that you've removed the viney weed growth and opened it up to better sun exposure and air circulation. Best wishes with your holly!
