I live in San Jose, Ca. I have a meyer lemon tree that has sent up two major shoots that are too large. Is it too late in the season to prune? Thanks. Whit Sanning

You can prune them off now. You may sacrifice some lemons if any have set on the branches you want to remove but aside from that, it's okay to prune your tree. Best wishes with your lemon tree!
