no leaves on my bougainvillea - Knowledgebase Question

hello i bought some bouaginvilleas a year ago i plant them on the ground they get full sun all day and i water them every four days they are full with flowers but no leaves whatsoever am i doing something wrong?

I think if you prune your bougainvilleas back they will bush out. If you look closely you'll see the flower bracts (the white part of the flower) is surrounded by colorful leaves. Below these colorful leaves should be regular green leaves. If you prune the stems back (after the flowers die), you'll force new growth at the bottom of the plant. Each new stem that develops will have leaves and at the tip of each stem you'll see new flowers (in about 6 weeks). Best wishes with your bougainvillea.
