|Heavy rain can shortened the life of your blooms, as can overhead watering, but typically even pest-free flowers live only two or three days. It's sad - but the good news is that gardenias usually produce lots and lots of flowers so there's almost always fresh new flowers to replace the aging ones. Enjoy your gardenia!
