Gazania rigens leucolaena, trailing gazania, is perhaps the most durable and drought tolerant. This selection has yellow flowers, soft gray-green foliage, grows 4 to 6 inches high and spreads many feet. Plant trailing gazania with rooted cuttings 24 to 30 inches apart, and water with overhead spray irrigation. Once established, gazanias typically require water every 2 weeks during summer. Look for Gazania rigens cv. 'Yellow Trailing', 'Sunburst', 'Sunglow' and 'Sunrise Yellow'.
