I layed 1000 sq ft of sod and am seeing spotting in certain areas. Other areas are very green and are almost tall enough to cut. What can I do to improve the areas that are spotting? I water 20 minutes every other day. Daily when it was new sod.

I suspect that the problem areas are not making good contact with the soil. Try pulling up on the sod in those areas. If you can lift it (like a loose rug), the roots were not making good contact and did not penetrate into the soil. You might be able to rescue the sod and reset it so it will knit with the soil. Hope so! If you need to roll up the sod and add some top soil, be sure to tamp it down so when you re-lay the sod it will be level with the rest of the lawn. The only other reason you might get problem areas in new sod is if your sprinkler system does not throughly cover all the areas of your lawn. Be sure to check this first - it's the easiest fix. Good luck with your turfgrass.
