|1st time I planted cabbage. Doing very well, except for cabbage worms which just appeared. I heard of an organic spray of vegetable oil, a little soap, and water. does this work well?

|I've heard of homemade repellants, too, but I don't think they work very well. You can use the botanical Bt (bacillus thuringensis) which is a bacterium that works as a stomach poison against caterpillars. It is harmless to people and pets and is sold as Dipel or Thuricide in the garden center. Apply according to label directions.
