|A question about my orange trees. The new leaves folding and have a white viens inside. Help please!
Thank you very much!
|Little white tunnels in the leaves of your orange tree are signs that leafminers are busy feeding. Leafminers don't do any real damage to the tree but their tunnels make the leaves look unattractive. The pests are difficult to control because they are protected between the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves. An adult fly deposits an egg just beneath the surface of the leaf. The egg hatches into a worm and it feeds on the tissues within the leaf. Then it makes an exit hole and spins a web that transports it down to the soil where it pupates and becomes an adult to repeat the process all over again. You can reduce the population by pull off the infested leaves and destroying them. The curling probably has to do with the feeding of the leafminer. Hope this answers your question!|
