My wife and I purchased our first home in West GA last summer. Our backyard needs alot of help. Lots of rocks, compacted soil, weeds and fescue. TruGreen is treating our lawn in general and recommends aeration in early fall. What can we do in the meanwhile to try and help our backyard look somewhat presentable? Pictures in my profile if you care to see. Thanks for the help in advance! |
Because the usual practice is to overseed after aerating, aerating is usually done in the spring or in the fall when the weather is cool and grass seeds are quick to sprout. Waiting until fall to aerate is a good idea in your gardening region. About the only way to green up your lawn now is to feed, mow and water on a regular schedule. |
