I have a grafted booginvia
last winter it killed it or i thought so the grafted stalk is about three in round/5 ft hi and the crown was 5ft across and two ft hi it died and broke at base mo ago and now i see at the base new growth 5in thick is this boogie

It is a bougainvillea that's sprouting from the crown of the plant, but it's likely to be a different color than the grafted bougainvillea that you were growing last year. I suspect it will produce purple flowers. If you don't mind the color change, you can just let the sprouts grow into a new plant. It will be hardier than the grafted top part and no so susceptible to winter frost.
