How come my jade tree keeps losing it's leaves? Am I watering it too much? How much light does it need to survive, and what is the minimum room temperature? We keep the house about 70 all the time.

Jade plants adapt to a wide variety of household conditions, making them reasonably easy to grow indoors. They prefer average household temperatures during the day, and a marked decrease in temperature at night. If you can keep the nighttime temperatures about 10 degrees lower than the daytime temperatures, the plant will be quite happy. Jade likes bright light, a south-facing window is ideal. It also likes soil on the dry side. Infrequent watering in the autumn and winter months is important. You should allow the soil to dry out between waterings. If you're keeping the soil too moist, the plant will respond by dropping stems and leaves. When watering, use tepid rather than cold water. Following the above guidelines should help your Jade plant recover and become healthy again.
