We have 2 trees, 4 to 5 years old. For the first time we notice that the leaves are getting eaten away. Reaching the tops with a sprayer may or may not be a problem. Thank You

You didn't identify the trees so I don't know if they are the types that attract insects or if they have a population of tent caterpillars feeding on the leaves. If they are too large to spray you may need to simply wait for the problem to go away. Usually, when there's a population of destructive insects, beneficial insects come to the rescue. In the case of tent caterpillars, the population starts out slow, builds over a couple of years and then diminishes on its own. As long as you keep your trees as healthy as possible with regular watering, they can usually tolerate defoliation. Eventually the insect pests will move on. Best wishes with your trees.
