|A single night's cold weather snap this winter in a suburb of Houston turned my Palm Trees bron (beige, actually). Are they dead? What should I do?

|Some palms are more cold hardy than others and it sounds as though yours are not cold hardy at all! With any luck, only the fronds were affected by the cold snap and the rest of the tree is okay. You won't know until new fronds emerge from the crown of the plant. You can prune off any obviously dead fronds now. Then only time will tell whether or not the growth bud at the top of the palm was damaged by the cold. If it was not damaged, new fronds will emerge in a few weeks. Let's hope for the best!
