My oak tree has a vey large branch that almost obscure my view from the drive. It hangs real low. Is a permit required to trim?

If the tree is on your property and you consider the limb to be a danger, you should be able to trim it off without permission from anyone. However, if it belongs to the city (planted on city property) or you are in a development with a homeowners association, you might want to check with them before removing the dangerous limb.
