my peonies have been in the same spot for 35 years and some of them are not doing well. Is there any fertilizer or recommendations for renewing my plants?

I'm afraid your peonies are probably at the end of their life span. You might want to try digging, dividing and replanting them this fall or early next spring. While you have the bed dug up, spread several inches of organic matter into it and incorporate it well. Then replant your peonies, or at least some of the divisions. With a new lease on life, they should thrive.
