We have an oak tree behind our deck and around the tree is a mulched area with pachysandra growing. We need info on what to do with the pachysandra. Can we pull it out and replant to clean up the mulch? Does pachysandra grow well in mulch? Would it be better to remove the pachysandra and opt for a different plant that grows well in shade, if we keep the mulch?

Sounds like the pachysandra is happy so I wouldn't remove it unless you want a change. You should be able to rake the mulch from between the plants if you want to replace the mulch, or you can simply spread new mulch over the top and rake it off the tops of the pachysandra or water it down off the tops of the plants. To make the job easier, simply mow the pachysandra down with your lawn mower prior to raking or adding new mulch. Best wishes with your landscape.
