What small tree or large shrub would be good in a slow draining, sunny, protected location? my redbud died after 2 years of wet springs. I would like something that will attact birds and be attractive. The tree will be located along our driveway where it will be seen often.

Some wet soil loving trees include red maple, Liquidambar (Sweet Gum), Fringe tree (Chionanthus), Dogwood and flowering quince. Hope one of these is just right for your landscape.
