What has caused the browning of a section of one of our green shrubs? What is it? How do we treat it?

If the brown section is on the lower part of your shrub, dog urine might be the cause. If it is higher up, there's a root problem or an insect infestation. Spider mites can turn foliage brown in a hurry. Scout for spidermites by looking for webbing around the stems and/or leaves. Spidermites can be controlled with a miticide and can be discouraged by periodically hosing off the plant (spidermites like dry, dusty places). Hope this information helps you determine just what is causing the problem!
