my summer squash is doing well with lots of blossoms but no squash. what is wrong? |
If your squash plants are in full sunshine, are not over-crowded and get plenty of water, they should set lots of fruit. Squash plants set both male and female flowers. The male flowers appear first, followed by female flowers. If the female flower is not properly fertilized, the little squash aborts and never fully develops. This early in the season, I'm betting the blossoms are male and not capable of setting fruit. Wait a little longer and you're sure to see some squash developing. |
