|I planted 2 sky pencil hollies near my front door and now they are turning brown as if they were dying. I purchased some hollytone a week ago and put it down around the trees. The top of the trees look burnt but there are still a few dark green leaves near the bottom of the trees. What should I do?

|It sounds like a water stress issue. Moisture extremes, from either overly dry soil or soggy wet soil can kill roots and cause the top of the holly to turn brown. If the roots are dead or dying, there's not much you can do to remedy the situation. Wish I had better news to share.
