Mandevilla is a vining plant and can grow about 10' tall. It should have a trellis on which to climb. You can keep it smaller by pinching out the growing tips periodically during the growing season. You can take cuttings to propagate mandevilla. Just snip off 6" long stem tips, strip the lower leaves from the stem and dip the end of the stem in rooting hormone before setting it in a pot of moistened potting soil. It will root in a few weeks.
